Dr. Enrico petrillo

Dr. Petrillo is founder of Petrillo Capital. His passion lies with advising and building successful Healthcare, Technology and IT companies, driven by over thirty years of combined experience. Throughout his career, he has worked with and advised entrepreneurs, Universities, research centers and corporations to build market-leading companies in a broad range of industries such as Cloud Computing, Defense, Cyber security, Life Sciences, Healthcare, and Enterprise software. He is currently founding venture investor and BOD of ZeroNorth.

Dr. Petrillo currently serves as Lead Investigator at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in the Division of General Internal Medicine, as well as Advisor to the Chairman, Dept. of Medicine and Physician-in-Chief for International Research. He is also on the Faculty of Harvard Medical School serving as full Lecturer. In these capacities, he is Co-Founder and Lead Executive of the International Network Medicine Consortium consisting of fourteen leading Global Universities and affiliated Research Institutes. This consortium is focused on global collaborations and joint ventures in technology research, clinical care and teaching activities.

Prior to Petrillo Capital, Dr.Petrillo held a series of founding corporate roles, including Founding General Partner of CB Health Ventures LLC, where he succeeded in leading forward companies like Morphotek (acquired by Eisai Co. Ltd Japan) and Exact Sciences (EXAS). He also has served as a Senior Consultant and Founding Partner in the technology commercialization group of Fletcher Spaght, a Boston based consulting firm spun out of the Boston Consulting Group. His advisory clients have included numerous national, multinational, information technology, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, as well as advanced technology firms and research Universities Globally. Most recently, as founding Director of Excel Venture Management he lead forward investments like BioTrove (acquired by Life Technologies-LIFE), Biocius (acquired by Agilent-A), MedVentive (acquired by McKesson-MCK), Shapeup (Merged with Virgin Pulse), and ClearData.

Dr. Petrillo’s experience is not bound by the corporate world. He has held positions including Adjunct Assistant Professor at Boston University School of Medicine, clinical consultant in internal medicine for the US Department of Health and Services, and current advisor to the United States Department of Defense, Office of the Secretary and affiliated facilities. Dr. Petrillo has extensive experience in government and public services having served as a staff member and advisor to U.S. Senator Paul E. Tsongas, and as a transition advisor for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under presidential transition director Elizabeth Doyle for then presidential candidate Ronald Regan. Dr. Petrillo has served as Director of entities emanating from technologies at MIT, Harvard, Brown and Johns Hopkins Universities as well as other Universities. He has served as a Key Advisor for new ventures and technology to major research centers such as Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Children's Hospital Medical Center, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Massachusetts General and Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

Dr. Petrillo earned his undergraduate degree, Magna Cum Laude, and M.D. from Tufts University. He completed his internship and residency at Harvard affiliated hospitals in Boston. Dr. Petrillo is uniquely qualified to provide a broad strategic vision that incorporates his wealth of accomplishments in academia, medicine, business, and politics.
